Blogspot will always resize for you to a default size to prevent the page from running. The middle display area of my blog restricts the width of my pictures to 380 pixels.
Generally, there are two ways about it. Save a huge picture and let blogspot do the resizing - large/medium/small (after all I can see your full pic by clicking o it). If you choose to resize it yourself, you have to press either Shift or Ctrl while dragging the corners to size PROPORTIONATELY(Or just use whatever graphic program it is that your are using to resize but make sure the LOCK ASPECT RATIO is on)
Use the corner handles to resize not the side handles.

i just tried resizing it...but the lines are not quite straight and the quality sucks. :-( no winning blogger templates.
