the idealist

little 6yo rolled down the window of the car one day.

after several minutes....

boy: it's so smelly outside!

mummy: why did you roll down the window then??

boy: to let the air in the car clean the air outside.

what an idealist. he thinks the little bit of air we have in the car will somehow make the difference in a world full of smog. our little car of clean air will dilute the environment of its pollutants. an adult's response will be to shut the window and keep the dirty air out, to go about our own as long as all's fine in here.

all children are idealist. until adults dampen their enthusiasm and repeatedly tells them they cannot do it, that they will fail. we put fear in their hearts so that they will not end up hurting themselves. we end up breaking their spirit.

how sad.

children love to imitate their parents.

sometimes, it should be the other way round and we should look to our children for inspiration, for guidance on the way the world should be, for the right attitude.

When we're young, we think growing up is the coolest thing in the world.

When we're older, we wish we could turn back time and relive the carefree days of childhood.

Humans. There's no pleasing us.

dear jonzz: i don't think i want to turn back time and relive my childhood. i envy their pureness and their carefreeness but i don't fancy going thru my early years again.

dear pooh: when are you coming? drop me a line at my e-mail and maybe we can arrange to meet up, if the time is good? kaypolenglui@gmail.com....btw, i prefer coffeebean *grins*

dear wuching: hahahaha. it will be compulsory to skip dinner and go straight to dessert...and vegetables will be banned from the dining table.

dear e: thanks, sweety. there are already thousands of books out there on bringing up children....everybdy has their own philosophy....but i think when you have pure love in your heart for the children, you'll inevitably act in their best interest. when there is real love, you can't go wrong.

dear cocka: my son must have been very tactful then....should consider career in politics.

dear zewt: ya, it's amazing what a child can come up with when you let their mind run free...then agn, a child needs guidance on what constitutes right and wrong....but as you grow older, even that distinction becomes very blur.

Well, if you're like the bad parents here who smokes in the car with their children, then the outside air is probably cleaner.

Children are basically stupid *cough* I mean innocent until they get the message from their parents with a good kick in the head "You're wasting water! You're wasting electricy! No, we can't air condition the entire world with the car a/c".

kids.
