2012. first day of the year. braised pork knuckle in 13 herbs, marinated overnight. can't wait to see what the rest of the 364 days bring me :-P

looks like traditional treatment. does it work?
if it does, i'd like to know the names of the 13 herbs.(hopefully, not the same ones used in the KFC recipe!!)
Ouch!!!! I believe it hurts terribly.
doc: to a certain extent, but probably a little faster than western 'ice and rest'. then again, i guess there is no hastening the 'rest' process.
so would i! it just reminded me so much of kfc when the chinese physician was preparing it. 13 was an arbitrary number, by the way :-) it was just powder so i have absolutely no idea what the pork knuckle was marinated in. thank goodness they didn't need the pressure cooker part :-P
